About

Mark Sherman Johnson is the author of the book Presence With Trauma and developed a novel of working with trauma, now available to meditators.

He has worked for many years with meditators exploring the limits of mindfulness, inquiry, and trauma resolution.

His approach is a presence-oriented, trauma-aware form of self-hypnotherapy effective with early life trauma. He maintains a private practice and leads groups.

He has been meditating for over 25 years, primarily focused on Jhana practice, presence work, and medicine work in the tradition of Amazonian shamanism.

Presence work, when trauma is present, must be attuned. Being with the trauma, being mindful of trauma, feeling into trauma — much of the prevailing guidance carries a subtle harm, yet is incorporated into the common "wisdom" of best practices.

Thank you for reading Presence With Trauma.
